Greetings,
On behalf of the Canadian Aboriginal Minerals Association (CAMA), it is my pleasure to introduce you to our organization and to seek your ideas and support. CAMA was founded and incorporated in 1992. We are volunteer organization, Aboriginal community member managed and driven Not-For-Profit corporation. Our main activity is in bringing Aboriginal communities and mineral companies together to address community, environment, health and economic development issues related to the minerals industry.
Today, we are all faced with challenges whether economics or social. Our main objective is to bring Aboriginal communities and the resource companies together to collaborate, learn from each other and work toward mutual benefits to the growth and health of Aboriginal communities and Industry. This is accomplished primarily through our unique network where delegates from communities, industry, governments and the private sector share their knowledge, lessons learned and innovative ideas on how to move forward together. In 2020 we were recognized by the Prospectors and Developers Association receiving the Skookum Jim Award and my many of our Aboriginal community partners throughout Canada.
Over the past 30 plus years, we have grown to promote community and mining industry growth through supporting dialogue, facilitation, and supporting negotiations and education. Today we see the results of our events and initiatives. There are now more than 500 agreements among Aboriginal communities and companies, partly due to our efforts. Resource companies are also realizing the objectives of their proactive Community Relations and Environmental policies by engaging Aboriginal communities throughout all stages of development.
We would like to build on this success, and invite you to become a Sponsor and supporter of CAMA and our events. Each event is comprised of plenary town-hall type presentations, workshops, social events and gala. Engaging the audience throughout is a prime objective. Highlights our our events include panels, including Indigenous Leadership Panel, and the ever popular Youth Panel, several Key Note addresses along with interactive circles on the economy, Aboriginal engagement, joint initiatives, environment and more.
We can do more with your input and support. We also look forward to helping your organization meet your objectives for growth and certainty.
Hans Matthews, CAMA Founder
